The Southern District Cricket Club Management is excited to announce a proposed merger between the Southern District Cricket Club (SDCC) and the Adelaide Cricket Club (ACC).
A merger between the two clubs will provide SDCC with an unprecedented opportunity for members to drive the destiny of a merged club, create financial sustainability and maximise financial support from SACA, as we become the first movers in Premier Cricket club mergers.
This announcement to our members, players and volunteers is the culmination of months of discussions between the two clubs and the SDCC Management Committee has reviewed the proposed merger terms and conditions, and agreed to present the opportunity to our members. Please read the prepared Merger Information to Members, which should be read in conjunction with the FAQs.
Two information sessions for SDCC members will be held next week. Members are encouraged to attend one of these sessions if you have questions and require further information.
Should you have any questions regarding the proposed merger in the interim, please email these to firstname.lastname@example.org
Your SDCC Management Committee, together with the ACC Board, will present a voluntary merger proposal to club members at Special General Meetings to be held at each of the clubs on 15 February 2021. Information on how you can vote will be emailed to you with the Notice of Special General Meeting.
The SACA Board believes that the proposed merger will support a stronger SACA Premier Cricket competition.
Both clubs collectively have a wish to become the strongest Premier Cricket club in South Australia and a club of choice for male and female cricketers in southern Adelaide and the Fleurieu region. The Southern District Cricket Club Management Committee and Adelaide Cricket Club Board believe that the merger proposal will drive this vision and provide members the opportunity to vote for the proposed merger at the Special General Meeting.
